Gods Lake Narrows RCMP investigate aggravated assault

On July 15, 2024, at approximately 9:30 am, Gods Lake Narrows RCMP responded to an aggravated assault that occurred at a residence on Manto Sipi Cree Nation. They were advised the victim was currently at the nursing station with serious injuries.

It was reported that the victim, an adult female, was at a residence with the adult male suspect when he assaulted her physically and with weapons over a period of four hours. Eventually, she was able to get to safety and RCMP were called.

At approximately 1:35 pm, officers located the suspect and he was arrested without incident.

A 32-year-old male from Manto Sipi Cree Nation has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon x2 and Assault. He was remanded into custody. The RCMP will not be naming him to protect the identity of the victim.
