Permanent Representative N.Ankhbayar met with Ms.Rabab Fatima, Under Secretary-General and High-Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States

On July 31, 2024, Mr. Ankbayar Nyamdorj, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations met with Ms. Rabab Fatima, UN Under Secretary-General and High-Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (OHRLLS).

During the meeting, High Representative Rabab Fatima praised Mongolia for its proactive efforts in championing the interests of landlocked countries and countries with special needs and advancing their development within the United Nations framework.

In addition, the two sides exchanged views on cooperation within the framework of the UN Group of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) and preparations for the Third UN Conference on LLDCs to be held in Gaborone, Botswana, in December 2024, as well as on supporting the activities of the Ulaanbaatar-based International Think Tank for LLDCs.

Mongolia is currently serving as the Vice-Chair of the UN Group of LLDCs in New York and is also the Co-Chair of the Preparatory Committee for the Third UN Conference on LLDCs, alongside with Austria.
