Zuckerberg Admits Being Pressured by Biden and Harris

This week, Facebook/Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg sent a letter to the House Judiciary Committee admitting that the Biden-Harris Administration pressured the social media giant in 2020 and 2021 to censorcertain COVID-19 content, which he now acknowledges was "wrong." Specifically, under pressure from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Facebook now admits to censoring more than 20 million posts related to COVID-19 to stifle dissent and choke out anyone who disagreed with Dr. Fauci, Joe Biden or Kamala Harris. In the same letter, Zuckerberg also now claims to regret censoring the infamous Hunter Biden laptop story weeks before the 2020 presidential electionwriting: "I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it." Let's flashback a few years when responding to reporters' questions about the Hunter Biden laptop in December 2020 and September 2021, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Joe Biden both claimed it was "broadly known and widely known that there was a broad range of Russian disinformation."

Zuckerberg, after contributing more than $400 million (aka "Zuckbucks") in the 2020 presidential election (including millions of dollars in Arizona) to promote and support Democrats getting elected, goes on to write in his letter that he doesn't "plan on making a similar contribution this [presidential] cycle." How incredibly convenient and noble of Mark Zuckerberg! Odd how nearly four years later Facebook now admits it bowed to pressure from the Biden-Harris Administration to censor American citizens on a wide array of subjects. My response: too little, too late. Everyone in the White House and Big Tech lied. They knew they were lying, but the payout was worth it. This isn't a surprise to anyone, despite being called election deniers by the left for daring to question their tactics, we know why they lied and cheated: POWER. As we have seen, Democrats will do anything, even buy, cheat and lie, to get into office. This was well-planned and orchestrated censorship, and you can bet it will continue.

David Inserra with the Cato Institute recenlty wrote a good analysisof this issue. He explains: "So is Meta "ready to push back? I suspect its spine is stiffer today and it would rebuff many advances made against it. But given that Meta is not willing to use its powerful position to resist the government and protect its speech and the speech of its users in the courts today, it is only a matter of time before Meta and other social media companies again find themselves facing irresistible government pressure."

Such a situation is untenable. Americans' First Amendment right to speak online should not be contingent on whether a social media company feels brave enough to face down the vast regulatory and police powers of the government.

Congress Should Include SAVE Act In Government Funding

Speaking of stealing elections, there were a handful of stories this week noting, that in an effort to protect election integrity, several states are cleaning up their voter rolls by removing illegal aliens. In Texas, Governor Abbott announcedthis week the removal of more than one million ineligible voters, including over 6,500 illegal aliens. Also this week, Ohio's Secretary of State referred nearly 150 illegal aliens for prosecutionafter identifying 600 lawbreakers registered to vote despite not being citizens. In total, Ohio has removed over 155,000 voter registrations from voter rolls. In Virginia, Governor Youngkin recently removed 6,300 illegalsfrom Virginia's voter rolls as part of nearly 80,000 voter registrations removed and noted "Every legal vote deserves to be counted without being watered down by illegal votes or inaccurate machines."I wonder what Democrat-controlled states, including Arizona, are doing to ensure election integrity?

Efforts in Texas, Ohio and Virginia make it abundantly clear that when Congress returns to Washington, DC in a few weeks, we absolutely must include the SAVE Act in any government funding plan. As a reminder, the SAVE Act is legislation that passed the House of Representatives in Julyand would amend current lawto require states to obtain documentary proof of United States citizenship when registering an individual to vote in a federal election, including for mail-in voting.

As I noted in a previous newsletter, the radical left loves to argue that it is already illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. But guess what? It is also illegal to cross the border and evade Border Patrol, but that hasn't stopped more than 13 million lawbreakers from crossing Biden's open southern border.

I find it both laughable and preposterous that the same people who, for the past four years, forced you to carry a vaccine passport to dine in a restaurant, hold a job or get on a flight are the same people now opposing common-sense legislation requiring individuals to show proof of American citizenship to vote in elections.

Voters are overwhelmingly concerned about the integrity of elections and rightfully so. With 13 million lawbreakers pouring across Border Czar Kamala Harris' open border, this legislation is a crucial step towards ensuring our elections are fair and honest and that is why House Republicans must insist that the next short-term funding bill includes the SAVE Act!

By the way, news reports this week indicate that RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnellhas been working behind the scenes to get House Conservatives to drop our demands that a short-term funding bill include the SAVE Act. That should tell you all you need to know why we must include it!

Recall that in 2016 Hillary Clinton received approximately 2.5 million more votes than President Trump nationally. But Trump won the electoral count, which is what matters in a Republic. This is why swing states like Arizona matter. In 2020, President Trump supposedly lost Arizona by 11,000 votes. Now you can see why the leftists want illegal aliens to vote: they can easily alter the election and cancel legitimate votes.

It's Mail Time!

I received more than 4,500 letters from constituents in August! I appreciate hearing from everyone who writes me. Here are a few letters I received this week:

Michael W. from Meadview, AZ wrote in:

The Commie Democratic party is destroying our country, and no one is doing ANYTHING...WTF!

Michael, I understand your frustration. It can be easy to get discouraged and disillusioned when one considers the leftists in power and their abject displays of irreverence for everything good that came before them. I write to you with full confidence that God has preserved, by His grace and providence, a small remnant in this government. But we face extreme opposition.

In the House of Representatives, politics is a numbers game. As you know, there are 435 seats in the House. At present, 220 belong to Republicans and 212 to Democrats. Three seats remain vacant. Slim though it may be, that constitutes a Republican majority. Democrats, as you will see if you watch votes live on the floor of the House, vote in unison on just about every legislative issue. Republicans, on the other hand, routinely subvert and slow the America First policy agendas of their own colleagues. I will give you an example.

Last year, I prepared and put before the House a series of bills that would repeal "national emergency" declarations that had been left dormant by the federal government for, in the case of some, decades without congressional reauthorization. According to the National Emergencies Act (NEA), Congress is obligated to put each of these emergencies (Syria, Libya, the Congo, etc.) to a vote. The Cato Institute issued a sobering policy analysis noting that Congress has designated $12 trillion in spending for national emergencies over the past 30 years, or fully one-third of America's towering $34 national debt. Something had to be done.

This would seem like the perfect issue for Republicans to unify over: wasteful government spending; reasserting legislative authority; rolling back the national debt. If these were really considered priorities by our Republican-led House, they would have been voted on and passed. So, what happened to H.R. 4615, the National Emergency Expenditure Reporting Transparency Act? It remains dormant, stuck in committee.

What is the solution? Keep the faith, Michael. Pray for our leaders, that their ears would be sensitive to good counsel and that they would govern with integrity. Pray that Republicans would start to vote as if the R's next to their names mean something. And pray for the perseverance of the fighters here on Capitol Hill who are holding out in the meantime. Our best days are ahead of us if we earnestly seek God's favor. His instructions in 2 Chronicles 7:14 are clear: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Hold on to hope! We must be happy warriors.

Nathanial W. from Buckeye, AZ shares:

In light of recent scandals involving Supreme Court justices' failure to recuse in significant cases and receiving lavish gifts from billionaires, I urge you to support and pass a Supreme Court reform package as proposed by President Biden, that includes a binding Code of Ethics and 18-year term limits for justices. A Code of Ethics especially must establish a means of enforcement. Justice Elana Kagan favors appointing a panel of independent judges to review alleged ethics code violations. Another approach, as suggested by Boston University professor Jed Shugerman, is to make ethics violations illegal, declaring that "granting access for something of value is a crime."President Biden's reforms do not require constitutional amendments. They are achievable by legislative action alone. No other major democracy provides life-long terms for its high court justices, and every other judge in the United States is subject to a binding code of ethics. Thank you for working to restore the legitimacy of the Supreme Court.

Nathanial, let me remind you that the judicial branch of government serves as a third and equal branch of government to rule on the constitutionality of congressional law-making and executive enforcement. As equal arbiters of the law, the justices are required to review the facts of the case and make a ruling based on the Constitution and case law.

I am appalled that the Democratic party is pushing to pack the Supreme Court. It is completely unacceptable. You may be interested in knowing that not too long ago, Mr. Biden called packing the Supreme Court a "bone-headed idea and terrible, terrible mistake."

You might also be interested in knowing that I previously cosponsored legislative responses which would limit the Supreme Court to just nine judges. Moreover, I oppose Mr. Biden's plan to reform the Supreme Court. Our Constitutional republic was created to preserve the rights of the people from federal and foreign aggression. Regrettably, the agenda of the Democratic party too often clashes with the Constitution as it seeks to expand the power of the government in a way the Founders never envisioned.

Your position assumes that one or more justices have acted unethically. The true facts are there was nothing unethical and the allegations were made by angry democrats who are hoping to bump conservative justices off cases or off the court so leftist Soros-approved activists could be appointed. Right now, the Supreme Court is the last bastion of our Republic and the leftists know this.
