New York State Police investigate a stabbing in Van Buren

On September 1, 2024, at about 2:31 a.m., State Police responded to 2119 Downer Street in the town of Van Buren for an assault/stabbing.

Investigation determined an unknown subject engaged in a physical altercation and stabbed the victim inside Average Joe's Beernasium on Downer Street.

The 33-year-old female victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital by GBAC Ambulance and is listed in stable condition.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
