Sign Up for CodeRED to Celebrate National Preparedness Month; Sign Up for Alerts to Stay Informed and Up-to-Date

(Weaverville, CA) September 3, 2024 - National Preparedness Month is observed each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time. In Trinity County, these disasters could include wildfires, earthquakes, weather-related events, and public health outbreaks. This National Preparedness Month, Trinity County's Office of Emergency Services is encouraging residents and visitors to become prepared by signing up for CodeRED. "CodeRED allows for residents and visitors to receive time-sensitive, emergency information to be sent to specified locations via home phone, cell phone, or email," said Elizabeth Hamilton, Director of Trinity County Office of Emergency Services. "CodeRED is utilized by Trinity County to send out real-time official information and critical updates to its residents and visitors. The first step in becoming prepared for an emergency is signing up for CodeRED to receive emergency alerts."

In recognition of National Preparedness Month, Trinity County residents and visitors are encouraged to visit the CodeRED website to:

  • Sign Up for Emergency Alerts:Trinity County utilizes CodeRED to send out emergency alerts. CodeRED is a web-based critical communication solution that enables local public safety personel to notify residents and businesses by telephone, text message, and email of time-sensitive information, emergencies, or urgent information.   • Download CodeRED Mobile Alert App:By downloading the CodeRED app directly to your smartphone, you will receive emergency notifications directly to your mobile device whether at home, on the road, or traveling around the United States. These alerts will deliver relevation, location-based emergency alerts. To download the CodeRED app, click here.
