Software Trade Mission to Ecuador

On September 2 and 3, Argentina's Foreign Ministry and the Argentine Embassy in Ecuador organized a trade mission in Quito with the participation of nine leading Argentine companies in the software sector: Artech, EmpowerIt, Equality, Globalsat, Infolytics, Sidesys, TI Sistemas, Veritran and Ualabee.

During the mission, more than 100 B2B meetings were held between Argentine companies and their local counterparts to promote collaboration and business opportunities. In addition, activities were carried out to link Argentine companies with Ecuadorian counterparts, such as IT managers from companies in that country and representatives of municipalities interested in innovative technological solutions.

The Ecuadorian-Argentine Chamber of Commerce and the Argentine Chamber of the Software Industry (CESSI) also organized meetings with Argentine companies based in Ecuador and Ecuadorian companies established in Argentina, including also a "Technology and Innovation Forum: Technological solutions for companies, institutions and cities", in which Argentine and Ecuadorian companies shared their experiences in both markets.

A networking event was also held at the Swissôtel, with the participation of Ambassador Eduardo Acevedo Díaz, that brought together 80 Ecuadorian companies and relevant actors in the country's technological and innovative ecosystem, especially in the software sector. The main objective was to share information about the Ecuadorian market and operating options, including the useful experience of established Argentine companies and specialists in corporate and tax issues.

Knowledge economy is positioned as one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing sectors at national and international level. In 2023, Knowledge-Based Services (KBS) represented Argentina's 4th largest export complex, reaching exports of 8 billion dollars, which represented 9% of the total at national level. Argentina ranks as the 2nd largest KBS exporter in Latin America, behind Brazil, and 38th worldwide.
