Troy City Manager Candidates Announced, Public Invited for Meet and Greet

The City of Troy is entering the next phase in its search for a new City Manager, a role essential to executing the legislative priorities of the City Council, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring that ordinances, policies, and community plans are carried out effectively.

After a comprehensive search, the Troy City Council has identified four finalists for the City Manager position. The following candidates will participate in public interviews and community events:

  • Craig Howard - Deputy Director, Office of Montgomery County Council, Maryland
  • Frank Nastasi -Chief of Police (and Temporary City Manager), City of Troy, Michigan
  • Khalfani Stephens - Deputy Mayor, City of Pontiac, Michigan
  • Chris Wilson - City Manager, City of Huntington Woods, Michigan

Meet-and-Greet and Public Interviews

Community stakeholders are invited to meet the candidates and provide feedback during a special event on Friday, Nov. 15 and to attend the public interviews on Saturday, Nov. 16.

  • Nov. 15- 4:30-5:30 pm - Location: Troy Community Center, Room 303 (3179 Livernois Rd.)
    • Candidates will be available for an informal meet-and-greet with residents and community members. The public is encouraged to attend, ask questions, and share thoughts. Comment cards will be provided for those who wish to offer feedback for the City Council to consider.
    • Earlier that day, candidates will tour City facilities and meet with City staff.
  • Nov. 16- 9 am - Location: Council Board Room (City Hall, 500 W. Big Beaver Rd.)
    • The Troy City Council will convene a public meeting, during which the individual candidate interviews will take place. This session will provide an opportunity for residents to observe the candidates and hear their vision for the City of Troy.
    • The Council meeting will be live broadcasted. Viewers can watch via the City's YouTube page (youtube.com/troymichigangov) and their local cable station (Channel 17-Comcast, Channel 99-AT&T and Channel 10-WideOpenWest).

City Council is expected to discuss the candidates and consider selecting the next City Manager during its regular scheduled meeting on Nov. 25.
