Lincoln Way Traffic to Shift Thursday; Eastbound Lane Closed Marshall to Franklin

AMES, Iowa - Traffic control on Lincoln Way will be extended on Thursday, July 25, weather permitting, to close the eastbound lane between Marshall and Franklin Avenues for pavement removal and replacement. This phase is anticipated to last seven to eight weeks.

As the shared-use path and new lighting are completed to the west, traffic control between Beedle and Dotson Drives will be removed.

The southwest corner of Marshall Avenue and Lincoln Way will reopen on Thursday. The southeast corner of Marshall Avenue is anticipated to close the second week of August and remain closed for two weeks.

The shared-use path on the south side of Lincoln Way will be closed from Marshall Avenue to the entrance of McFarland Clinic. Cyclists should continue to use Beedle Drive to access the shared-use path south of Hy-Vee. Pedestrians should continue to use the sidewalk on the north side of Lincoln Way.

The City of Ames has contracted with Con-Struct for the reconstruction of Lincoln Way from Beedle Drive to Franklin Avenue. The project includes spot improvements to utilities and reconstruction of the shared-use path on the south side of Lincoln Way.
