RCMP charge two individuals following break, enter and theft

The New Brunswick RCMP have charged two individuals following a break, enter and theft in Shediac, N.B.

On November 24, 2024, members of the Shediac RCMP detachment responded to a report of a break, enter and theft at a business on Main Street in Shediac.

The two individuals forcefully gained entry to the business through a side door and stole several items, including tools, before fleeing the scene on bicycles.

Subsequent to their investigation, members of the New Brunswick RCMP's Southeast Crime Reduction Unit and the Shediac detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Calder Street in Shediac. A 39-year-old man and a 47-year-old man, both from Shediac, N.B., were arrested without incident. During the search, police recovered stolen items in relation to the break, enter and theft, as well as stolen items from another unrelated incident that occurred in the Shediac region.

On November 25, 2024, 39-year-old Clovis Gallant appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with break and enter into a business. He was remanded, and is scheduled to appear in court December 5th, 2024, for a bail hearing.

On November 26, 2024, 47-year-old Jean-Guy Gallant appeared in Moncton Provincial Court, and was also charged with break and enter into a business. He entered a guilty plea, was remanded, and is scheduled to return to court on December 12, 2024, for a sentencing.
