Prison inmate Patrick Smith, Jr. dies

CLARINDA, Iowa - Patrick James Smith, Jr. was pronounced dead at 7:36 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024 at the Clarinda Regional Hospital. Smith was 38 years old at the time of his death.

Smith had been serving a five-year term for crimes from Polk County. His sentence began on Jan. 20, 2023.
