Auto Club: Halloween Treat For Drivers As Gas Prices In LA Drop To Lowest Level Of 2024

Gas prices dropped for a second straight week in Southern California, giving Los Angeles its lowest gas price average of 2024 and bringing other metro areas within a few cents of their lowest 2024 levels, according to the Auto Club's Weekend Gas Watch. The average price for self-serve regular gasoline in California is $4.56, which is five cents lower than a week ago. The average national price is $3.13, which is two cents lower than a week ago.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $4.52 per gallon, which is three cents less than last week and 85 cents less than last year. In San Diego, the average price is $4.60, which is three cents lower than last week and 84 cents lower than this time last year.

On the Central Coast, the average price is $4.57, which is four cents lower than last week and 82 cents lower than last year. In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $4.38, which is three cents lower than last week and 84 cents lower than a year ago. In Bakersfield, the $4.51 average price is three cents less than last week and 86 cents lower than a year ago today.

"We could be seeing pump prices in more Southern California areas drop to their lowest levels of the year in the coming days." said Auto Club spokesperson Doug Shupe. "Starting tomorrow, Nov. 1, Southern California gas stations will be allowed to sell the winter-blend gasoline which is cheaper to produce and less expensive for consumers."
