Project COHERENCE

An inter-regional (Interreg Italia-Slovenija) cross-border health regulatory alliance for advanced therapies, cofunded by the European Union.

COHERENCE is a two-year project that was launched in April this year with six partners and a budget of just over one million Euro, that aims to promote a collaborative approach in Research and Development (R&D) processes for a clinical trial for the treatment of difficult wounds.

Capitalising on the experience of the partners, through a pilot action, the project will develop an open platform that guides researchers in regulatory compliance. Involving designing and carrying out a clinical study for the treatment of difficult wounds, the study, in addition to advancing the development of an effective treatment, will serve to test a platform developed to guide researchers in regulatory compliance. Once complete, the platform will be opened and expanded to encourage the participation of other research groups at the European level.

With Prof. Serena Zacchigna, the Lead Partner at ICGEB, partners also based in Italy are the University of Trieste , and VivaBioCell SpA. In Slovenia, the partners include Gaiacell, Celica Biomedical Center and Crystal Medical Center.
