Man Fatally Shot During Robbery Outside Patricia Drive Apartment

Homicide detectives are investigating Sunday's 12:10 a.m. robbery-related fatal shooting of a 37-year-old Nashville man outside his friend's apartment at 1019 Patricia Drive. Efforts are underway to notify his next of kin.

The victim's friend reported that they were hanging outside his apartment when they were approached by four suspects, described as black men. They demanded their belongings. When the victim fought back, one of the suspects shot him in the stomach. They then shoved the second victim to the ground, threatening to kill him if he moved. They took his wallet, passport, Guatemalan ID, and cash. The suspects fled on foot. The shooting victim was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died.

According to the second victim, the suspect who shot his friend is approximately 5'6" tall and appeared to be in his mid-20s. He had short hair around the ears and neck, longer on top. The gunman who threatened to kill him appeared to be in his mid-30s. He had a long beard and is approximately 5'8" tall.
