Larson, DelBene: Senate Fails to Deliver Critical Tax Relief for America’s Families

Washington, D.C. - Today, Reps. John B. Larson (CT-01) and Suzan DelBene (WA-01), members of the Ways and Means Tax Subcommittee, released the following statement after the Senate failed to advance the bipartisan Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, which would expand the Child Tax Credit and restore research and development expensing, among other critical tax provisions.

"Today's vote fails America's families and workers, who are going to pay the price for Senate Republicans' partisan games," said Larson and DelBene. "We passed these tax cuts in the House with bipartisan support over six months ago to support working families and small businesses across the nation, but they are still left waiting for this critical relief. Expanding the Child Tax Credit and restoring the research and development deduction will protect jobs, bolster technological innovation, and combat child poverty. It is time to stop these games once and for all and deliver the tax relief our constituents need."
