Central Precinct Patrol Officers Apprehend Convicted Felon With Outstanding Warrants

Outstanding work by two Central Precinct patrol officers this morning led to the arrest of an MNPD Most Wanted suspect. Emory Davis, 56, a convicted felon, was stopped on Middleton Street, in an area known for illegal drug activity, in a red Chevrolet Camaro when officers ran the license plate and found he had eight outstanding warrants.

When approached by officers, Davis refused to give his name and attempted to run. He was quickly taken into custody.

Multiple crack pipes, marijuana and syringes were found upon a search of the Camaro. Davis' passenger also placed a bag on the ground with a crack pipe visible. A search of her bag led to the seizure of a pistol and crack cocaine. She advised to officers both belonged to Davis.

Davis had outstanding warrants related to the July 14th aggravated assaults of two convenience store clerks on Jenkins Street after he produced a handgun, threatened to kill both of them and then slashed their tires as he fled because he was unhappy with the change he was given. Davis also had warrants for an April incident where he was allegedly speeding on a suspended license down Nolensville Pike in the same red Camaro.

Davis is currently jailed on $135,000 bond.
