McKINNEY, Texas (July 8, 2024) - Residents and other interested parties are invited to learn more about the updated redevelopment proposal for the downtown city-owned properties at two upcoming public meetings.

  • City Council Work Session, City Hall
    • 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 23
    • M2G Ventures, the city's preferred development partner, will provide an updated look at its development proposal and will seek consensus from the City Council on its proposed programming plans, such as land uses, location of land uses, density, and building heights.
  • Public Information Presentation, City Hall
    • 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, July 29
    • M2G Ventures will present an updated version of its development proposal during a 30-minute presentation, followed by an opportunity for the public to ask questions for approximately 30 minutes. The presentation will be similar to the information presented at the July 23 City Council Work Session.

The City of McKinney is constructing the new McKinney City Hall at the northwest corner of Throckmorton and Virginia streets in Downtown McKinney. McKinney City Hall is scheduled to open in early 2025, and staff will vacate many city-owned facilities, including the Development Services building and the current City Hall. City Council selected M2G Ventures in January as the preferred development team to partner with the city to redevelop the city-owned properties in Downtown McKinney. M2G Ventures has development experience in several Texas cities, including Fort Worth, Dallas, and Austin.
