COOK POLITICAL: “House Races Across the Midwest Move in Democrats’ Favor”

House Democrats continue to build momentum

Today, the nonpartisan Cook Political Report announced that it is shifting five more battleground House races towards Democrats, including IA-01, IA-03, and MT-01.

These GOP-held districts are moving towards Democrats as "uniquely weak " Republican incumbents grapple with "baggage" and Democrats' fundraising advantages continue.

Non-partisan race raters have made 27 shifts towards House Democrats in the past month, while only moving races towards Republicans eight times.
