Defence Cyber Command conducts Aegis Lexicon 2024: Mobile Awareness Programme - lll at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Defence Cyber Command under the Ministry of Defence successfully conducted the third session of Aegis Lexicon 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently (Aug 24). This session is part of a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing cybersecurity awareness across the government sector, with particular focus on safeguarding the nation's Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII).

The first two sessions in this series were conducted at the Prime Minister's Office and the Presidential Secretariat. These foundational sessions were crucial in establishing a robust government-wide awareness campaign on cybersecurity.

The Aegis Lexicon series is a strategic initiative by the Defence Cyber Command to combat the growing threats to national security posed by cyberattacks and vulnerabilities within the digital space. The primary objective of these programmes is to ensure that key government officials and personnel are well-informed and equipped to protect vital information assets that are critical to national security.

This third programme saw active participation from a wide range of high-level government officials, including Additional Secretaries, Director Generals and Staff Officers. In recognition of the event's importance, Sri Lankan diplomats stationed in embassies worldwide also joined virtually, extending the programme's reach beyond national borders.

The workshop was highly interactive, with participants deeply engaged in discussions, sharing insights and exchanging knowledge on best practices in cybersecurity.

The Defence Cyber Command provided comprehensive guidance on emerging cyber threats, strategies for mitigating risks, and the importance of a robust cybersecurity framework within the government sector.

Given the pivotal role that the Defence Cyber Command plays in securing the country's cyberspace, the success of the Aegis Lexicon 2024 series represents a significant advancement in strengthening the nation's cybersecurity posture.
