Oct 04, 2024 Great Shake-Out

Oct. 4, 2024 - Get ready to DROP where you are, COVER your head, get under a desk or table, and HOLD ON to something sturdy on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 10:17 a.m.

CSUCI is participating in the Great California ShakeOut, an annual five-minute drill that is part of a worldwide earthquake exercise. Building marshals and the campus community are encouraged to participate. Creative and fun additional ways to participate can be found on the Great California Shakeout website.

To prepare for this and other major events, CSUCI conducts regular building evacuation drills to test fire and evacuation notification alarms. In the event of a real earthquake emergency, occupants would DROP, COVER & HOLD ON, and then immediately evacuate their buildings with the assistance of their building marshals, who are appointed by the University.

For more information visit CSUCI's Emergency Preparedness website or contact Maggie Tougas, Emergency Manager, at 805-437-3765.

The University encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs, events and activities. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation, or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact the respective area below as soon as possible, but no later than seven (7) business days prior to the event/activity:
