State Street Repaving Project to Begin August 20, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 15, 2024

City of Auburn Announces State St Repaving Project to Begin August 20, 2024

Project Funded with NYS Touring Route (STR) Program Funding

A $650,000 road construction project to repave a portion of State Street (NYS RT 38) will begin August 20, 2024 and last through mid-September. The project is being funded with NYS Touring Route Program funding that the City of Auburn has received via 2024 New York State budget.

The impacted project area includes all of State Street between W. Garden Street to Perrine Street.

"This investment in the west side of our city is long overdue. In the end we will have an improved State Street in a high traffic area in front of the Auburn Correctional Facility and north through Perrine Street," stated Mayor James N. Giannettino. "We would like to recognize NYS Senator Rachel May, we brought this State Street repaving project to her attention and she supported us with this funding in the 2024 State Budget."
