Doug Strahler, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of strategic communication and media, and Jessica Hall-Wirth, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of special education, presented at the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement conference, Oct. 2-4, at San Diego University in California.
Their presentation titled, "Importance of Effective Mentorship When Completing Campus Compact Submission Credentials," highlighted effective mentorship practices for participants to implement at their institutions, enabling faculty to complete Campus Compact credentials within a semester.
IARSLCE is a network that consolidates the value of service-learning and community engagement for their understanding of the world and communities. More than 275 scholars and professionals attended the conference.
