Dr. Chang Huh Receives Prestigious Faculty Collegiality Award from ICHRIE

Dr. Chang Huh, a professor in the College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management at Niagara University, was honored with the Faculty Collegiality Award at the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education's annual conference in Montreal, Quebec, on July 25, 2024.

Dr. Huh was recognized for his dedication to creating a collaborative and supportive environment within Niagara University and the broader hospitality and tourism community, and his ability to build strong, lasting relationships with colleagues and students alike. Through his work, he has continually inspired a culture of mutual respect, shared knowledge, and professional growth.

Dr. Huh notes that his commitment to collegiality is rooted in his belief that the strength of any educational institution lies in the unity and collaboration of its members, and he is proud that his efforts are leaving an enduring impact on his peers, his students, and the future leaders of the industry.

Dr. Huh earned his Ph.D. in parks, recreation and tourism resources at Michigan State University, his master's degree in hotel management from Sejong University, South Korea, and his bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from Kyonggi University, South Korea. He also holds certifications as a hospitality educator (CHE) and in hotel industry analytics (CHIA).

The ICHRIE Faculty Collegiality Award is given to a faculty member or administrator who has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering collegiality among peers. This award celebrates those who exhibit exceptional team-building skills, supporting their colleagues in teaching, scholarship, and service both on campus and within professional organizations.
