State Police investigate Fatal Northway crash in Queensbury

On November 18, 2024, State Police responded to reports of a one-vehicle crash on I-87 in Queensbury, NY.

On November 18, 2024, at about 6:20 a.m. Troopers responded to the report of a vehicle overturned off the roadway of I-87 northbound in Queensbury, NY. The driver sustained severe injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Further investigation determined the vehicle had overturned and struck the Gurney Lane overpass. The left and center lanes were closed for approximately three hours for the investigation and inspection of the overpass by the New York State Department of Transportation, which determined there was no damage to the structure. All lanes have since been reopened.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Pending family notifications, the driver's name will not be released at this time.
