Student Leaders and Community March to Reclaim the Night

This march continues to address a topic which resonates with University of Lincoln students, promoting safety within its community. It builds on the success of last year's gathering, where more than 550 people united under a powerful message that everyone deserves to feel safe at night.

Reclaim the Night is a movement which originates from the 1970s, born as a global response to the urgent issues of sexual harassment and violence against women. The movement organises marches and rallies worldwide, raising awareness about sexual assault and advocating for the safety in public spaces, especially after dark.

Amelia Hinton, Lincoln SU Student Support & Development Officer, is leading this year's march commenting: "Everyone deserves to feel safe, and that right must be protected. Together, through our collective voices and actions, we can create a community where safety is a reality for all. I've attended Reclaim the Night every year and it's an honour to lead this march as we work towards real change."

All members of the public are welcome to join in the march and the Students' Union will be supported by students, staff and the wider Lincoln community to join the march.

The walk will start at the Brayford Pool Campus, meeting outside the SU building at 5.30pm to walk through the city streets until approximately 7pm.
