Biden’s escalation in Ukraine threatens global catastrophe

The Communist Party USA unequivocally condemns the Biden administration's escalating aggression in Ukraine and the use of U.S. military equipment in attacks on Russian territory. Reports of long-range strikes on the Bryansk region with U.S.-manufactured missiles underscore a rapidly increasing threat to civilians and an escalation of the conflict.

This wanton posturing in the final days of the Biden presidency has already provoked threats of nuclear retaliation from the Russian Federation. With U.S. imperialism waging a spiraling multi-front campaign of bloodshed, along with the recent electoral victory of the most reactionary and chauvinistic elements of the U.S. ruling class, our imperative for building an effective national peace movement has become ever more dire. Our struggle for peace and against imperialism must continue to grow, with urgency, and in full solidarity with our fraternal comrades and progressive allies around the world.

The CPUSA further calls upon progressive forces around the world to work toward the reconstruction of a global movement against nuclear weapons as an essential cornerstone of the international peace movement. Nuclear brinkmanship once again threatens all of humanity as we know it - we cannot afford to wait. We must unite to stop a descent into global catastrophe.
