Minister of Foreign Affairs accompanies the Prime Minister of Thailand to attend the 3rd Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit in Doha, State of Qatar

On 3 October 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister of Thailand, to attend the 3rd Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit in Doha, State of Qatar.

The Prime Minister expressed deep concern with the worsening humanitarian situation in the region that has affected the innocent civilians, and called on all parties to immediately cease all acts of hostilities, protect civilian infrastructures, and comply with the international humanitarian law and the Charter of the United Nations and all resolutions based on two-State solution.

The meeting also discussed ways to address geopolitical challenges, promote unity, peace, prosperity and the role of the private sector in generating investment opportunities, as well as to advance cooperation on tourism, culture, energy, climate change and connectivity.

Thailand will take over as the Chair of the ACD in 2025, which Thailand hopes to see the ACD become a Forum of Asia that promotes Asian interests in the Asian Century. Thailand is committed to bridging the interests of member countries to promote peace and common prosperity, by which Thailand will plan for a number of tangible cooperation during her chairmanship.
