San Marcos Community Foundation Awards Grants To Local Non-Profits

The San Marcos Community Foundation (SMCF) continues to provide hope and financial support to essential community services that keep our city and community strong. Since 1988, the SMCF has awarded almost $2 million to 150+ nonprofit organizations serving San Marcos. These grants have benefited purposes including children, seniors, arts and culture, education, health and wildlife.

The SMCF grant program has provided over $45,000 in funding, so far this year, to local non-profit organizations including most recently to the Cardinal Alliance Parent Organization, San Marcos High School Music Boosters, Victory Daycare, Bithiah's Family Services, Coastal Roots Farm, Doors of Change, Palomar College Foundation, San Marcos Middle School Parent Club, TERI Inc, and Elizabeth Hospice.

Serving as stewards of a generous one-million-dollar seed endowment since 1988, the San Marcos Community Foundation's mission is to enrich the quality of life by providing year-round grants to a wide variety of nonprofit groups serving San Marcos residents.

"Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos (BGCSM) is most grateful for our continued partnership with the San Marcos Community Foundation. At our on-campus Club sites at Double Peak School and San Elijo Middle School provided 16,666 healthy meals to 201 Club members," reported Cathy Baur, CEO of Boys and Girls Club of San Marcos.

To strengthen this valuable granting funding source the SMCF has established an online donation platform where interested members of the community can contribute to the Foundation endowment.
