A-1 Officers Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect in the Boston Common

At about 2:20 AM, on Friday, August 2, 2024, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) arrested Roman Samuels, 21, of Boston, on armed robbery charges.

Officers responded to the area of the Boston Commons for a report of an armed robbery. Officers were advised that a victim was robbed of his bag, and that the suspect threatened to stab him with a pair of scissors.

Simultaneously, officers were approached by a second victim who stated that her bag was stolen while she was sitting on a bench. Officers were provided a description of the suspect, and were able to stop him inside the Commons.

Samuels was placed under arrest and charged with Armed Robbery, and Larceny from a Person. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
