Now Open: Cook Road Bridge over I-29

Buchanan County Cook Road Bridge rehabilitation project

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Cook Road Bridge over Interstate 29 in St. Joseph is now open. Clarkson Construction Company, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation completed the bridge rehabilitation project and reopened the roadway this afternoon, Thursday, Oct. 17. Southbound I-29 is still currently closed as crews complete work beneath the bridge.

The project replaced the driving surface of the bridge and added a sidewalk on the south side. The City of St. Joseph also allocated funds to enhance the aesthetics of the bridge by adding decorative fencing and concrete.
