MdB Benjamin Strasser and MdL Klaus Hoher visit Diehl Defence

Benjamin Strasser, Member of the German Bundestag and Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Justice, and Klaus Hoher, Member of the Baden-Württemberg State Parliament, visited the Diehl Defence location in Überlingen at Lake Constance.

CEO Helmut Rauch welcomed the guests and introduced the company in a presentation. The visitors received information on Diehl Defence's comprehensive product portfolio, in particular on the air defence systems of the IRIS-T family and their functionalities. The strategically important topics of capacity expansion and growth at Diehl Defence were also discussed in an atmosphere of trust.

During the subsequent tour of the production facility, Benjamin Strasser and Klaus Hoher were able to see the high-tech skills of the production staff for themselves. The extensive construction measures and investments in the infrastructure also became apparent when walking around the location.

"The technical innovative strength of Diehl Defence in Überlingen is impressive. The company provides sustainable jobs here locally and is thus also committed to the location. Nevertheless, it is important that Germany as a country becomes more attractive for urgently needed private investment. This includes noticeably less bureaucracy, qualified personnel and good tax conditions. As the Federal Government, we are setting exactly this important course with the largest bureaucracy reduction package in the history of the Federal Republic, simplified immigration of skilled workers and improved tax incentives for research. Especially during a time of massive threats to Germany's security, such as the war in Ukraine, it is good to know that we have companies like Diehl Defence in the country that can help to strengthen our defence capabilities", said State Secretary of Justice Strasser.
