This summer, Wilkes University launched a partnership with Uwill to provide access to mental health care for its graduate students who often juggle a variety of responsibilities including full-time careers and families in addition to their studies.

"Having close to 3,000 graduate students, most of them in an online educational environment, it is very important that we provide comprehensive mental health services to this population," says Mark Allen, associate vice president for student life and success. "Our graduate students are spread throughout the United States and the world making it challenging to provide counseling services because of licensing restrictions. Our partnership with Uwill mitigates that concern as they offer licensed staff in all fifty states and over forty different countries."

A leading provider of student mental health and wellness support, Uwill provides secure, confidential and free support. Currently enrolled graduate students may access up to four solution-focused teletherapy sessions. Uwill also offers a library of on-demand resources addressing a variety of concerns including relationship issues, stress management and academic performance. Students can even access wellness programming like yoga, meditation and mindfulness.

"Our graduate students are juggling busy schedules and multiple responsibilities. They have varied needs depending on their phase of life. Uwill has an easy-to-navigate platform that offers on-demand wellness resources on a variety of topics," says Maria Richards, director of Wilkes University's counseling center.

Uwill provides plenty of flexibility for graduate students with busy schedules. Telehealth appointments are available on days, nights and weekends, and the scheduling process is simple. After creating an online profile with Uwill, students can choose a therapist based on personal preferences including availability, issue, gender, language or ethnicity.

"Mental health is increasingly being recognized and respected as an important pillar in an individual's well-being and success," adds Richards. "I am happy that Wilkes University's partnership with Uwill can enhance this pillar for our graduate students by offering mental health support at their convenience."

While Uwill serves graduate students, undergraduate students who need assistance should contact the Counseling Center on campus or the 24/7 CHAT line at 570-408-CHAT (2428).
