The election is over, and we now face a stark moment of clarity and mobilization. The newly elected federal leadership is committed to policies that actively harm NYLPI's client communities (and many of our families). Our work to achieve justice for all New Yorkers calls us to choose belonging over bias. Opportunity over exclusion. Solidarity over division.

Justice takes all of us, and we must dig deep and fight to make New York a beacon of opportunity in these times of threat. We are actively preparing for a future with a President-elect who has promised immediate actions that cut to the heart of our community-led vision for justice, including mass deportations, decimating environmental protections, freezing refugee admissions, targeting folks in the LGBTQIA community, ending renewable energy projects, and mobilizing the military against peaceful protesters.

Our communities are threatened as never before. But NYLPI is ready to fight back - our nearly 50 years of work following the lead of our communities and bolstering their demands with our legal, advocacy, and organizing strengths is steadfast. No matter who is in office, our mission remains clear.

Our relationships form a community of mutual support that will give us resilience for the marathon ahead. In times of urgent threat, we depend on each other.

We will share state and local strategies and resources in the coming days and weeks on this page.
