The minister Attaf holds talks with Russian counterpart in Sochi

The minister of foreign Affairs and National community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, on Friday held talks with his Russian counterpart, Sergueï Lavrov, at the beginning of his official visit to Sochi, Russia, where will participate in the proceedings of the first ministerial conference of the Africa-Russia Partnership Forum.

The meeting was an opportunity for the two sides to discuss the state and prospects of strategic partnership relations between Algeria and Russia, as part of the follow-up to the conclusions of the state visit of the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to Russia in June 2023, and his talks with the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Poutine.

The two sides also exchanged views on major regional and international issues, including the latest developments in the Middle East and the Sahel region.
