Two SR 25 Signal Activations December 3 in Garden City
GARDEN CITY, GA. - Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) announces Tuesday, December 3, activation of two, new signalized intersections on State Route (SR) 25 at I-516 (Exit 8) off-ramp and Main Street in Garden City.
These two new signalized intersections on SR 25 at I-516 off-ramp and Main Street are operational improvements as part of the Brampton Road Connector Project that is currently under construction.
Georgia DOT crews in preparations for the activations will install traffic signals at the intersections and restripe the intersections. Message boards will be in place to alert motorists of the new traffic signal locations and activation date.
While not expected to be in service for the Tuesday morning commute, the signals should be fully functional by midday. Local law enforcement will handle traffic control during activations to enhance safety. These signal activations are weather contingent and subject to change.
Motorists are always advised to proceed cautiously through intersections, but most certainly so next week during activation and the days to follow as drivers become acclimated to the new signals.
Brampton Road Connector Project GeoPI Project Information will provide direct access to the Interstate System for the heavy commercial truck traffic related to the intermodal terminal transfers and will improve the efficiency of the transfer of goods between the port, rail, and interstate highway systems.
Advisory: Exact time may change due to weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
