Bipartisan Senate Abraham Accords Caucus Commemorates Four-Year Anniversary of Historic Agreement

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV.), Joni Ernst (R-IA), James Lankford (R-OK), and Cory Booker (D-NJ), co-founders and co-chairs of the Senate Abraham Accords Caucus, released the following statement commemorating the fourth anniversary of the Abraham Accords signing.

"The Abraham Accords have opened the door to unprecedented cooperation between Israel and Arab nations," said the senators. "In the face of increased Iranian aggression, the foundation of this agreement is more important than ever to further cooperation in the region to deter threats from Tehran and its proxies. Peace is what Iran fears, and the very existence of these agreements serves as a threat to their chaos. As we celebrate four years since this historic signing, the U.S. should continue building on the Accords by bringing our partners together, helping advance prospects for peace, restoring prosperity in the region, and widening the circle of partnership to new countries."

As a founding member and co-chair of the bipartisan Senate Abraham Accords caucus, Senator Rosen has been leading the push for actions that build on these historic agreements. Along with her co-chairs, they have worked to advance regional security by introducing theDEFEND Act, which established an air and missile defense architecture with Israel and other Middle East allies after it was signed into law. They also introduced and passed into law theMARITIME Act, which required the Department of Defense to develop a strategy with partners and allies in the Middle East to counter maritime threats posed by Iran and its proxies.
