The City of Midland is excited to announce that it has recognized Midland Community Television (MCTV) Multimedia Production Specialist Kris Ferguson as its latest recipient of a City Strive Award. The award was presented in November.
Ferguson received the Respect and Inclusion Award, which recognizes a City employee for consistently exhibiting and promoting respectful and inclusive behaviors in the delivery of services to citizens and in interactions with employees.
Ferguson was nominated by former Dial-A-Ride Manager Amy Bidwell for his patience and understanding while working with an individual with a learning disability during a City video shoot.
"Without missing a beat Kris recognized the need to give short instructions and film multiple practice takes with our participant. Kris never once complained but instead made sure our participant felt comfortable every step of the way. Kris explained things and was patient and kind," Bidwell shared in her nomination of Ferguson.
Ferguson has worked for the City since 2020.
"Kris is a shining example of the care and understanding City employees strive to demonstrate to all members of our community. Inclusivity and respect are not just words to Kris it's the action he demonstrates every day and for that, we are grateful," said Midland City Manager Brad Kaye.
