The Fargo Police Department Locates Person of Interest in Homicide

Officers located J'Veonte Logan during a traffic stop on the 12th Avenue North viaduct

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, The Fargo Police Department, with assistance from the Metro Area Street Crimes Unit, conducted a traffic stop on the 12th Avenue North viaduct and located J'Veonte Malike Logan.

Logan, also known as Amire Logan, is a 20-year-old Fargo resident who has been identified as a person of interest in a homicide that occurred on Monday, June 24.

On Monday, June 24, at 8:16 p.m., FPD officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of 6th Avenue South for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with serious injuries from a gunshot wound to the face. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Fargo resident Zion Brooks.

No further information is releasable at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
