Nineteen Lifepoint Health Hospitals Achieve Top Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group

Nineteen Lifepoint Health hospitals achieved an "A" Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2024 from The Leapfrog Group, a respected nonprofit organization setting high standards for patient care excellence. Leapfrog evaluates general hospitals nationwide, assigning grades (A, B, C, D, or F) based on over 30 performance measures, reflecting areas such as errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, along with the preventive systems hospitals have in place.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands out as the sole ratings program exclusively focused on a hospital's prevention of medical errors, infections, and injuries, which collectively claim over 500 lives daily nationally. This grade is peer-reviewed, transparent, and accessible to the public at no cost. Updates to grades occur biannually in the fall and spring.
