Traffic Signal Upgrades at Staples Street and Timbergate Drive Intersection

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX-Beginning Tuesday, October 29, City crews will upgrade the traffic signals at the Staples Street and Timbergate Drive intersection. The new signals will feature a flashing yellow arrow for left turn indications.

This work is part of an in-house project to enhance left turn safety at the intersection. The flashing yellow arrows will replace the standard green light indication for left turns.

Research has shown that flashing yellow arrows improve the safety of left-turn movements at a signalized intersection. Drivers can turn left on a flashing yellow arrow but must yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians before proceeding cautiously.

Motorists should anticipate daytime single-lane closures between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. between Tuesday, October 28 through Thursday, October 31.
