At the event, there will be several activity stations where you can try different things:
The event is part of Lahti's GoGreenRoutes project, which helps develop the health forest. The Irish partner, Playful City, is collaborating with many local organizations to organize this event. Playful City aims to create playful, healthier, and more inclusive city environments.
- Playful City adds an international touch to the event. Young people can try different European traditional games and explore a nature-themed exhibition in multiple languages. They are also creating a visual display of green spaces and parks from across Europe at Likolampi, says project manager Taru Suutari.
The event is organized in collaboration with Lahti City, Päijät-Häme Welfare Area, Playful City, Mente, Miete ry, FinFami ry, Valo-Valmennusyhdistys, Tiirismaa Trail, Scouts, and Outward Bound.
- It's wonderful that so many local organizations are involved and that educational institutions are joining in. The topic clearly interests people and is considered important, Suutari expresses.
- Supporting the mental well-being of youth is a relevant theme. We emphasize how nature can calm the mind and help find resources in daily life. We encourage teachers to take activities outdoors, as being in nature promotes youth health and well-being, helps with focus, and strengthens team spirit, Suutari adds.
