Chairman-Elect Guthrie Announces Energy & Commerce Committee Staff Director and Deputy Staff Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Energy & Commerce Committee Chairman-Elect Brett Guthrie, released the following statement announcing two long-time aides will lead the Energy & Commerce Committee as Staff Director and Deputy Staff Director:

"Today, I am proud to announce that Megan Jackson will serve as the Staff Director and Sophie Khanahmadi will serve as Deputy Staff Director for the Energy & Commerce Committee. Megan, a Kentucky native, is a seasoned Capitol Hill professional who served as my Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for more than eight years and has extensive experience both on and off Capitol Hill. Megan has consistently displayed strong leadership qualities and an ability to advance conservative policies. Sophie has been a key member of my team for the last seven years, most recently serving as my Chief of Staff. Her experience helping to execute my legislative agenda and lead our team will be instrumental for the Committee. Megan and Sophie are trusted advisors who will be central to advancing our America First agenda and bringing conservative solutions to the issues facing the American people," said Chairman-Elect Brett Guthrie.

Megan Jackson will serve as Staff Director of the Energy & Commerce Committee. Megan is a Kentucky native and trusted advisor who worked for Guthrie on his first Congressional campaign in 2008. She then spent more than eight years as his Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director during her more than 14 years on Capitol Hill. Since 2017, Megan has been with Alkermes, Inc, most recently as Vice President of Policy and Government Relations.

Sophie Trainor Khanahmadi will serve as Deputy Staff Director of the Energy & Commerce Committee. Sophie, a Tennessee native, has served as Congressman Guthrie's Chief of Staff for the past three years, after spending the previous four years as his Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director. Sophie has nearly 15 years of experience on Capitol Hill prior to joining the Committee.
