Montenegro achieved remarkable progress in recent period

The significant progress of Montenegro and the remarkable achievements made in the integration process were highlighted during the meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and France's Special Envoy for the Balkans René Troccaz.

As noted during the meeting, the European perspective of the region is of great importance to France, and its increased engagement is reflected in Special Envoy Troccaz's second visit.

In the discussions, Troccaz emphasised that Montenegro is a leader in negotiations with the EU, and this has been recognised at all major European institutions.

Prime Minister Spajić thanked France for its support on Montenegro's path to EU membership.

European integration remains at the top of our agenda. We have a clear plan, developed in cooperation with the European Commission, to be ready for EU membership by the end of 2026. After that, the decision will rest with the EU member states, said the Prime Minister.

The situation in the region was also discussed, and it was concluded that only the European perspective guarantees stability in the Western Balkans.

During the dialogue on economic issues, excellent economic reports and the improvement of Montenegro's credit rating were highlighted. The need for strategic cooperation with France and other EU countries was emphasised as essential for further development.
