Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee (PMBC) Announces Top Four Winners of the Annual Clean Block Contest for 2024

What: The Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee (PMBC) will announce the top four winning blocks of the 2024 Clean Block Contest.

Who:

• Carlton Williams, Director, Office of Clean and Green Initiatives
• Crystal Jacobs-Shipman, Commissioner, Department of Sanitation
• Haasan Freeman, Director of the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood and Community Engagement
• Jordan A. Harris, State Representative, PA-186^th District

When: Today, Friday, November 8, 2024, 8:00 p.m.

Where: IATSE Ballroom, 2401 Swanson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148.

Details:

A total of 25 blocks participated in this year's contest and were judged for engagement of block residents, cleanliness, beautification efforts, and property improvements. The four top winners will be awarded $300 for 4^th place, $500 for 3^rd place, $700 for 2^nd place, with the top prize being $1,000. The remaining blocks will each receive $150.

In addition to the Clean Block Awards, three Community Spirit Awards winners will be recognized: Junior Block Captain of the Year, PMBC Neighborhood Transformation Award for Beautification Projects and the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Award.
