Events of '2024 Voice of China-Hungary Friendship Choral Series' Held in Shijingshan

On July 4, the events of the "2024 Voice of China-Hungary Friendship Choral Series" were held in Shijingshan District. The events were co-hosted by the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts of the University of Pécs in Hungary and Shijingshan District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, supported by Liszt Institute - Hungarian Cultural Center Beijing, and co-organized by Shijingshan District Cultural Center and the Culture Center of Shijingshan District.

On the morning, the Chorus of the University of Pécs visited Shijingshan. The members of the chorus strolled through Moshikou Historical and Cultural Block, explored the city's historical context, observed the Big Air Shougang up close, experienced the wonderful integration of ice and snow with industry, and enjoyed an immersive tour at Fahai Temple Mural Art Museum to feel the charm of the mural treasures of the Ming Dynasty. Moreover, through a chorus-based flash mob, the Chorus of the University of Pécs, Shougang Retirees Chorus from Shijingshan District, and Bajiao Veteran Maple Leaf Chorus jointly performed the Chinese song "My People, My Motherland", voicing out the friendship between the people of China and Hungary.

On the afternoon, the 2024 Voice of China-Hungary Friendship Choral Master Class was launched at the theater of the Culture Center of Shijingshan District, promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning. The teaching team, which consisted of experts including Tamás Lakner, a world-famous chorus master, took the world-class Chorus of the University of Pécs as a model to give a demonstration master class by Hungarian experts, which was about the conducting for chorus of the folk songs around the world, and a rehearsal and tutoring class of Chinese chorus works by the chorus teams from Shijingshan District. These educational activities were rolled out to continuously deepen the understanding of the art forms of the two countries.

On the evening, the 2024 Voice of China-Hungary Friendship Choral Concert was held at the theater of the Culture Center of Shijingshan District to enhance cultural exchanges. Professor Lakner led the Chorus of the University of Pécs and the excellent chorus teams from Shijingshan District to jointly bring a choral concert to the public, which not only tested the teaching and training results of the classes, but also allowed the citizens of Shijingshan and surrounding areas to feel the charm of the chorus cultures of China and Hungary.
