Convicted felon Rodney Haynes Jr., who was wanted on outstanding warrants, including felon in possession of a gun related to an October Fain Street shooting, is in custody.
Specialized Investigations Division detectives developed information that Haynes, 47, was inside a University Court apartment. Despite repeated commands Thursday night, he refused to exit the apartment. Officers made entry and took him into custody.
Detectives recovered three handguns from inside the apartment, two had been reported stolen. One from a 2021 theft from a Dickerson Pike apartment and the second gun was taken from a vehicle in the 1300 block of 2nd Avenue South in 2022.
Haynes is charged with three counts of felon in possession of a handgun, resisting arrest, and violating his probation. He has prior convictions for aggravated robbery and cocaine possession. Haynes remains jailed in lieu of $49,000 bond.
