Nighttime Lane Closures on Westbound, Eastbound Interstate 580 (I-580) for Bridge Deck Repair on Richmond/San Rafael Bridge

Schedule: Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18

Contra Costa County and Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to continue a bridge deck repair project on both the upper and lower decks of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge from Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18.

The two far-left lanes are scheduled to be closed on Eastbound Interstate 580 (I-580) from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night. One lane is scheduled to be closed on Westbound I-580 between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night.

The bicycle lane on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on Westbound I-580 may be closed. If a closure of the bicycle lane is required, closure notices will be provided in advance. Shuttle services will also be provided at the Stenmark Drive Bridge entrance and at Vista Point in San Rafael.

Speed limit signs will be posted as 40 mph in construction areas.

Weekend work is not scheduled. All work is dependent on weather.

Caltrans will turn on Changeable Message Signs (CMS) to notify the public ahead of time.
