ROBBERY SERIES INVESTIGATION AND ARRESTS

Robbery detectives have made several arrestsrelated to multiple robberiesof victims who were minors thatoccurred in May 2024.

During each of the May 2024 incidents,the suspects approached the victim, yanked their necklace from, and fledthe scene in anawaiting vehicle.

After the first robbery, detectives received a tip from a community member, which led them to identify the suspects and later determine that the series of robberies wasrelated.

The suspects were identified as follows:

  • Marissa Maxie, a 21-year-old resident of Carson, was booked for two counts of robbery and conspiracy. She was arrested on August 13, 2024 in the city of Carson.

  • A 17-year-old male suspect who was arrested on Sept.10, 2024 in the city of Lakewood and was booked for six counts of robbery.

  • A 17-year-old male suspect who was arrested on Oct.3, 2024 in the city of Long Beach and was booked for five counts of robbery.

detectives canvased and collected videoevidence, contacted community members, and followedall investigative leadsto take the suspects into custody.

These arrests are related to the following incidents:

  • May 17, 2024 at approximately 3:00 p.m.near HarcoStreetand Los Coyotes Diagonal

  • May 30, 2024 at approximately 2:53 p.m.near SpringStreet and Palo Verde Avenue

  • May 30, 2024 at approximately 3:00 p.m.near SpringStreetand KnoxvilleAvenue

  • May 30, 2024 at approximately 3:09 p.m.near Studebaker Road and Keynote Street

Robbery detectives have presented the cases to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration.
