Kelly Ayotte Tells Those With Concerns About Her Anti-Abortion Record to "Take a Hike"

Republican candidate for governor Kelly Ayotte released a new campaign adtoday calling Granite Staters with fact-based concerns about her record of attacking reproductive freedom "BS political attacks" and to "take a hike."

Instead of trying to brush off the facts, Ayotte should explain to New Hampshire voters her extreme anti-abortion record, including:

  • Voting for a national abortion ban in the U.S. Senate and calling for Roe v. Wade to be overturned.
  • Voting four times to defund Planned Parenthood - the biggest provider of reproductive health care in the state - and pledging to do the same as governor.
  • Voting so consistently against reproductive freedom that she was awarded a "100% rating" from The National Right to Life organization, an anti-choice extremist group.
  • Serving as the "sherpa" for then-Supreme Court Justice nominee Neil Gorsuch, who would be the first justice to sign on to the majority opinion in Dobbs, directly helping to "shepherd" in the extreme anti-choice majority that overturned Roe.

Ayotte's attempts to lie to voters haven't gone unnoticed, with The Cut and NBC News both reporting about her craven attempt to rewrite her anti-abortion record.

"Granite Staters know the only BS in this race is Kelly Ayotte's craven attempts to rewrite her legacy of voting for a national abortion ban, defunding Planned Parenthood, and helping Mitch McConnell pack the Supreme Court with the majority that overturned Roe v. Wade," said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O'Brien. "Granite Staters know Ayotte will do and say anything to get elected, and aren't falling for her desperate election-year lies. This November, it will be Granite Staters telling Kelly Ayotte to take a hike."
