The Michigan Public Service Commission will hold its next regular Commission meeting in the Upper Peninsula as the agency works to expand public involvement in regulatory matters that affect all Michiganders.

The Commission meeting will be Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. at Bay College's Besse Center Auditorium, Building 700, 2001 N. Lincoln Road in Escanaba. The public may attend the Commission meeting in person or participate by video or phone livestreamed over Microsoft Teams.

In addition to Commissioners, MPSC Staff will be at the meeting to provide information about energy assistance, help with utility disputes and other valuable consumer information.

"We're excited to be able to visit the UP and hear directly from Yoopers about their concerns about energy and telecommunications matters," MPSC Chair Dan Scripps said. "The Commission has stepped up the time it spends in the UP in recent years as we look to ensure that the peninsula's unique energy issues receive the attention they deserve."

An agenda for the meeting will be posted closer to the day of the meeting. The public is invited to speak on any matters the Commission may address at the meeting, or other concerns they may have on energy and telecommunications issues in the UP. Each regular Commission meeting includes a public comment period after the Commission has concluded its votes on orders presented at the meeting.

Individuals with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations to participate in this meeting. To request reasonable accommodations, please contact the Commission's Executive Secretary at 517-284-8090 as far as possible in advance of the meeting.
