Public Information Meeting for 30 ST 9-18 AV Improvements

The City of Rock Island will hold a Public Information Meeting concerning the proposed improvement of 30th St. from 9th Ave. to 18th Ave. The public information meeting will be held at the Rock Island Police Department Community Room at 1212 5th Ave., Rock Island, IL, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The meeting will be conducted in an open house format. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend this meeting. Persons with a disability planning to attend this meeting should contact the person listed in this Notice by January 3, 2025 to make arrangements for participating. The contact may be reached by telephone, in writing, by fax or by telecommunications device for the deaf (TTY).

This is a federally-funded project, and the Public Information Meeting is being held in compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements and the Illinois Department of Transportation's public involvement policy.

The meeting will be conducted on an informal basis. Representatives of the City of Rock Island and Hutchison Engineering will be available from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Representatives will answer individual questions and record comments offered by those in attendance. Verbatim comments will not be recorded. The City of Rock Island representatives will address topics such as the need for the project, the design alternatives under consideration, potential need for right-of-way or temporary easement from properties along the route, and the tentative construction schedule. Engineering analysis with drawings, maps, and aerial photography will be available for inspection and viewing during the entire time. The same material will be made available for review and inspection on the City of Rock Island's website at www.rigov.org.
